AMD Radeon Navi GPU

If I enable the iGPU in my bios then VideoProc shows in Intel Iris Pro instead of N/A. If I disable iGPU then VideoProc shows N/A but still detects hardware for encoding/decoding/processing. I looked on my 16" MBP and it does indeed show the Radeon card instead of N/A. I wonder if the N/A is there because it doesn't recognize the device ID of the card.
Thanks! As long as VideoProc detects hardware for HEVC and H.264 (as shown in Post 1035) then the rest is merely cosmetic and probably an issue with VideoProc.

Also when encoding on the 16" MBP with graphics switching turned off it still only shows Intel & CPU on the Converting window.

Additional comments/questions:
  • Regarding the screenshots in Posts 1031 and 1035, was the system booted at that time with Clover or OpenCore?
  • Are you using a current version of BIOS on your Asus Strix 390-F that supports KF processors?
    • Because CPU does not iGPU, BIOS should not have an option to enable Internal Graphics, but check to make sure.
  • Do you have shikigva=128 in Boot Arguments (and you're using WhateverGreen)?
  • Does System Information --> Graphics/Displays show the Vega 64 properly?
that screenshot i was booted with open core, but i have both clover and oc efi ready and can use clover instead.
in my bios its latest version (1401) and there is no option for iGPU anywhere im guessing cause i have the kf
no my undrstanding is not to use shiki boot arguments with lilu and weg?

The OpenCore config.plist is setting Platform ID, which should not be used when iGPU is either disabled or not present. The Clover config.plist does not set Platform ID so give that a shot (no changes needed to Clover; just boot from it).

However, because VideoProc is already showing HEVC and H.264 hardware acceleration, you're good to go regardless.

VideoProc looks for "AMD" in the GPU name. Change the Name to something with AMD and it will be displayed. It's just cosmetics tho.

Yes. If Vega 64 is in PCIe Slot 1, then we would enter this:
Screen Shot 2020-04-30 at 5.02.39 AM.png

The device path is: PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)

Correction: The property name should be AAPL,model (not "model"). Looks like I stand uncorrected! :)

I have been getting KPs with VideoProc too but then it works fine with the same settings and video after a reboot so it is weird. Unfortunately when I click on the "Report" button after the KP it's not bringing up the dialog which shows the log so I can't compare it with yours but I suspect it is the same thing.

Yes. If Vega 64 is in PCIe Slot 1, then we would enter this:
View attachment 466047
The device path is: PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x1,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)

Correction: The property name should be AAPL,model (not "model").

Just model is correct. You can also modify the SSDT by changing/adding what is in bold below

Return (Package (0x16)
{
"AAPL,slot-name",
Buffer (0x19)
{
"Slot-1@0,1,0/0,0/0,0/0,0"
},

"model",
Buffer (0x16)
{
"AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT"
},

Thank you -- I stand uncorrected! (Always wanted to say that.)
