Update: as of 10/17/19 Apple has support for Navi cards in Catalina beta 15.1 version 2. So far all brands tested have been able to run with stable fans.

Sapphire Pulse, Gigabyte reference, XFX reference, MSI Evoke, Asus Rog Strix, have all been reported working with several different vbios versions.

Apple has begun to include some code for the upcoming Navi graphics cards in the Mojave 14.2 beta. The new AMDRadeon6000HWServiceskext has Navi code for a few different models. The new device ID is 0x73101002. We need to keep our eyes on this kext development for more news and support as its getting close to the "Navi-dad". we saw similar code in Sierra prior to the Vega release. Navi in 6 months?

A little further look shows the new 6000HWkext plugin (6000HWLibskext) shows only the Navi 10 code. This could be the Navi10 that has been predicted but there is also now Vega 12 and Vega 20 code snippets.

Apple is now using Vega GPUs in their MacBooks so this could be leading to or suggesting Navi MacBook devices along with the Vega devices currently being used in the AMDRadeon5000kext (Vega12, Vega20). This could also be Navi10 and Navi12 as predicted with subgroup parts Navi9 and Navi16 as mobile devices. Lots to speculate on here as we await the unveiling of these new products.

Mojave has added Vega 12 to the AMDRadeon5000kext with device IDs for the mobile Vega GPUs. The Vega 10 has been there since High Sierra in the same kext but did not have the added devices below under a separate heading of Vega12. We may see the same happen to the 6000kext set. We saw the Sierra AMD4000kext with Vega code but High Sierra came with the new AMD5000kext for the Vega cards.

I think that this is pretty interesting. It can give all the necessary information not only to developers but also users who are interested in such things. Thanks for sharing this information.

People say AMDRadeonX6000HWServices.kext has been removed in 10.14.4 beta. Vega VII device IDs are all in AMD10000Controller.kext . Are you getting one of those?

Yes I’m planning to get one of those. Interesting I’ll update to the beta and check it out tonight.
