Does the RX 5700 XT work in Catalina ? I have an i9-7900X with a GTX 980 Ti. I would like to update.
How do you see the change from a GTX 980 Ti to an RX 5700 XT? I use Final Cut and Adobe products.
Should I buy? Or is there a better model than the 5700XT ?

For windows it’s clear. You should check the Mac forums for performance with those software versions first. Then compare. If you need Catalina, then 5700 XT is the way to go.
If you can wait for the Navi 12, it’s rumored to be more powerful and due out soon.

Sorry if GPU installation is slightly off-topic here, but I've never changed one before. (My Hackintosh was prebuilt and came with my GeForce GTX 1080 card installed.) I am going to go with a Sapphire RX 5700 XT, but I am trying to decide between a Pulse or a Nitro+ version. The latter is longer (12") but my case claims it can hold up to a 13" GPU. I think my PSU (Corsair RM750i 80Plus Gold) can handle either card, but I've no clue about power connectors. Nitro+ says it uses 2x8-pin, and the Pulse says it uses 1x8-pin and 1x6-pin. Attached is a screenshot of my PSU connectors. Could someone verify whether either Sapphire model would work? Much obliged...

Yes, the 6+2 is the 8 pin configuration. The cable has 6 plus a 2 that locks into the side for 8 pin cards.

I'm happy with my 980, but I can't update myself. It's just fair for games. Navi 12 will be more expensive, right? Price performance ratio? The 5700 XT would follow at the same price I suppose. Many doubts.
Is it 65% more powerful? ....... Than my GTX 980 Ti?

Don't know yet, because even the newest Mac Pro is not using Navi GPU.

After checking inside my Hack's case, I've decided I'll get the Sapphire Pulse RX5700 XT because an installed fan assembly prevents a card as long as the Nitro+ would be. Now, another noob question about the power connectors: currently I'm using just one 6+2 connector to my 1080 card, but that same cable has a 6-pin branching off of it from the plug that connects to the 1080. Since the Pulse needs both an 8-pin and a 6-pin, can I simply use that 6-pin (see attached pic) that's coming out of the 8-pin plug, or will I have to install an entirely new cable from the PSU using 6-pins connectors on both ends?
