Sorry, Jithin.C.V,
I
manually insert device id number 0x68111002 into the info.plist of this two new El Capitan works again

thanks

Can you help me figure out how to do it? Trying to get R9 270 to work under El Cap. Boots fine, the resolution is correct, but no acceleration.

Hi all,

Just hoping i can get some help and workout why these kext don't seem to be working.
Card is ASUS R9 270 DirectCU II OC. ID 0x6811.

Used kextwizard. repaired permissions etc

OS is 10.10

I used the file from post #17.

Type: GPU
Bus: PCIe
PCIe Lane Width: x16
VRAM (Total): 7 MB
Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
Device ID: 0x6811
Revision ID: 0x0000
Kernel Extension Info: No Kext Loaded
Displays:
Display:
Resolution: 1920 x 1080
Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888)
Main Display: Yes
Mirror: Off
Online: Yes

I tried manually loading the kext but get error messages.
AMD7000
/System/Library/Extensions/AMD7000Controller.kext failed to load - (libkern/kext) dependency resolution failure; check the system/kernel logs for errors or try kextutil(8).

And AMDX4000
/System/Library/Extensions/AMDRadeonX4000.kext failed to load - (libkern/kext) link error; check the system/kernel logs for errors or try kextutil(8).

fyi the system was first installed with a nvidia560, but had to change to the ati 270.

Thanks in advance

I using bootloader Clover for El Capitan with AMD R9 270 graphic cards.
What i get in my System preference is "AMD Radeon R9 270 7MB"
I already use the 2 kext and install using kext wizard and repair permissions + rebuild cache but it still not working :crazy:
Any guidance pls ?

Hey, I was hoping you may be able to help me as well. I've been having issue with El Capitan for a long time now and can't figure it out. I normally get the error **GPU VM Hardware is enabled and it just stays there. I tried downloading your files and now I don't get that error but the cards still aren't working. They are Radeon 7950's Device ID: 679A which is supposed to be natively compatible but I can't get it to work. Any ideas?

Edit: Realized that the reason I am no longer getting that error is because neither the 7000 nor the x4000 kexts show up in kextstat. The frame buffers in DPCIManager show IONDRVFramebuffer, even though they should be Tahiti. I have tried AtiConfig with Tahiti and with Futomaki, neither working.

Added device id 6610, attached the modified kexts.

Download and install kexts with Kext Wizard.

Once it is installed, execute repair disk permissions and rebuild caches using the Kext Wizard (Check in Maintenance tab for these options)

Reboot and check whether card enabled or not.

Did the patching myself using Terminal, nano and "sudo -s" and I can tell you I got this working by patching both of those files for the R7 250 by patching in 0x66101002 into the line below IOPCIMatch in AMD7000Controler.kext and the same 0x66101002 in AMDVerdeGraphicsAccelerator in AMDRadeonX4000 under it's IOPCIMatch key.

Before port mapping, It ONLY works with 2 monitors. Single monitor setups will boot to a black screen.

Also, I've tried live patches using Clover with this info and have failed everytime to get the patch up and running. I've tried every permutation of InfoPlistPatch and the ONLY method to get this working is to patch your AMD7000Controller and AMDRadeonX4000 Kexts directly for the R7 250.

FWIW, I created a ATI Connectors Patch Framebuffer patch for the R7 250 below:

Code:
Personality: Futomaki
ConnectorInfo count in decimal: 4
Disk offset in decimal 609168
0000000 00 00 08 00 04 02 00 00 00 01 01 00 10 00 12 02
0000010 04 00 00 00 14 02 00 00 00 01 02 00 20 01 03 01
0000020 10 00 00 00 10 00 00 00 00 01 03 00 00 10 05 08
0000030 00 08 00 00 04 02 00 00 00 01 04 00 11 02 01 03
0000040

I couldn't personally get it to work, but someone else might find this useful.
