I'm running macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 (with security update). On Sierra (10.12) I had no issues with ALC892 audio on my ASUS P8Z68-V PRO GEN3 motherboard. But since High Sierra (10.13) my audio stops working randomly and I have to reboot. This happens for no reason whatsoever. I would be booting into High Sierra and audio works great. A few minutes in I would suddenly notice my audio is no longer working. If I go to sound preferences I can still see all the audio devices but there's simply no sound, as if it's muted somehow.

I use Clover + CloverALC from toledo. This is NOT related to sleeping. I dont use sleeping at all on my Hackintosh. This is also not related to browsers or streaming as it would happen even if i dont use any streaming audio sites in browsers. I boot into macOS, go to sound preferences and test the audio using the "Sound effects" tab. I can confirm it works. I go about my business, browsing the internet or working on any macOS app. Later I'd notice my audio is missing (e.g. i dont hear the recycle bin sounds). Going into sound preferences I notice all my devices are still there, but that the audio simply doesnt work.

I've redone the CloverALC download and installation. It makes no differences. I've had this issue since 10.13.1 and now on 10.13.4.

1) Description of audio problem
My audio works fine and then just randomly disappears. I initially thought this is related to streaming video sites and Google Chrome, but this happens even if I don't use Chrome. Today it happened again. I was playing iTunes, then headed to YouTube using Safari and my sound instantly stopped. Oddly after about 10min the sound returned without needing to reboot. But the sound also stops even if i dont use streaming video sites.

2) OSX version/motherboard model/BIOS version/processor/graphics
macOS 10.13.5
Asus P8Z68 PRO GEN3, i7 2700K, GeForce GTX580

3) Procedure/Guide used
Toledo Clover ALC. I'm doing the Audio Injection in my Clover config file.

4) Copy of IOReg
(in ZIP attachment)

5) Terminal/Shell/Export Test As
(in ZIP attachment)

6) Screenshots of Audio IN/OUT
(in ZIP attachment)

7) Clover config.plist + bootlog
(in ZIP attachment)

8) SPEAKERS
- Creative Sound Blaster 5.1 Surround system (quite old)
- Connected to my motherboard's audio ports. (Green - Front, Orange - Surround, Black - Sub)
- Selection in System preferences (Internal Speaker)

When audio disappears, see No Sound - AppleHDA Realtek Audio/Post #1/Problem Reporting. Post to thread linked with requested files attached.

Only support iTunes audio not working. Everything else is impossible to support.
Connected to my motherboard's audio ports. (Green - Front, Orange - Surround, Black - Sub)
Audio ID: 2, Orange and Black are disabled; Pink repurposed to Orange and Blue repurposed to Black. Suggest config.plist/Devices/Audio/Inject/1 to support all audio ports as labeled.

I've switched to Audio ID 1, however it doesn't seem like an ideal setup. With Audio ID 1 the "Internal Speaker" item no longer works, but instead the two Line Out items work. However the first line out is linked to the front speakers and the second line out is linked to the rear speakers. So basically the 5.1 surround is lost (since you can only select one Line Out). I'm not sure if it was truly working in surround on Audio ID 2 in any case, but I'm pretty sure I had more speakers working, however at this time i'm desperate to get rid of this audio disappearing issue so I'm willing to try Audio ID 1 for a while to see if it makes a difference.

Thanks for the speedy response toleda! Much appreciated :)

I can confirm that changing the Audio ID does NOT work. My audio does still disappear. I understand Toleda supports only iTunes music, but that seems a bit limiting for a Hackintosh as the world has moved to streaming audio & video. I still havent determined whether this is specific to streaming or just general use. I've switched to Safari but my Audio still stops working. Is anybody else experiencing this?

If I cant even use YouTube on my Hackintosh I would say my Hackintosh is a failure I'm afraid.

On Audio ID 1 when selecting Line Out (first one) then only my center speaker work with bass. Front speakers are dead, only the center and bass.
On Audio ID 1 when selecting Line Out (second one) then only my rear speakers and bass work. At least both rear speakers work.

My configuration is as follows: Green-Front speakers, Black-Rear speakers, Orange-Center & Bass.

Audio ID 1 is basically worse than Audio ID 2.
