I'm having trouble getting sound to work on the GA-H81M-H v1.1 board. I've seen another post that reported success, so I am slightly concerned my motherboard is defective.

I installed the sound drivers with Multibeast 6.1 (due to an issue with sound disappearing after sleep in 6.3), with the option selected in the attached image.

It seems like the sound chip is somewhat detected by the OS, because the various output channels are listed. However, the jacks just emit a high-pitched tone, and do not respond to volume controls.

I will also attach my Chamelon bootloader settings.
The BIOS is updated to F7.

Thank you for any help!

Update - I restored the original AppleHDA.kext by running the 10.9.3 Combo Update.

I then manually patched it with the script from here: https://github.com/toleda/audio_ALC887

I also removed HDAEnabler1.kext, using Chimera to inject instead.

However I arrive at the same exact problem. Sound jacks are detected. The system even detects when I plug in my headphones. But all I hear is a high-pitched tone. I tried HDEF audio ID's 1 and 2, same result for both.

Did you ever get this to work? I have the same motherboard but I can't get my ALC887 codec recognised using multibeast, the other codec has the same ID as yours but the one I need doesn't.

Did id you have any problems with this? If so how did you get round it?
