hey dudes,
I'm planning to build a really powerful video workstation to work in video post using software from final cut, Assimilate Scratch, After Effects, Nuke and so on. Thus a very demanding powerful machine.

I'm considering the following components:

1x INTEL CORE i7-2600K 3400Mhz S.1155 (overclocking is a must)
1x Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3
16 GB RAM CORSAIR VENGEANCE 1600Mhz
1x PNY Quadro 4000 PCI-E 2GB GDDR5
1x KIT RL CORSAIR H100
1x CORSAIR HX850W MODULAR 80PLUSGOLD
1x SSD OCZ AGILITY 3 240GB SATA3 (mac os system)
1x SSD OCZ AGILITY 3 120GB SATA3 (win 7 system)
6x HD WD CAVIAR GREEN 2TB SATA 3 (data raid) + PCI RAID CONTROLLER
1x CASE LIANLI PC-Z70

What I really would like to be sure is about the fully working Nvidia quadro 4000...since Assimilate Scratch is only working with Quadro cards.
Also I'd use a pci video monitoring card like Aja kona 3 (I have one used in a ma c pro) or Blackmagic similar.

Anyone to help?

Have you used the search function for that graphics card?

YES, SEARCHED AROUND (ALSO AT INSANELY) AND SEEMS A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVING SUCCESS...

BUT I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT FUNCTIONALITY AND ANY PROBLEMS LAYING AROUND (INSTALLATION...)

ALSO I'M PLANNING TO USE IT UNDER SL 10.6.8, ALTHOUGH IS NOTED SOME KERNEL PANIC AND RANDOM FREEZES OCCUR UNDER THIS OS X...is this problem solved with latest drivers from Nvidia?

I'd have two OS X boots (SL and Lion) just in case

All I have been able to do is similar searches.

However there is an entry for the card in Chimera/Chameleon:
http://forge.voodooprojects.org/p/chameleon/source/tree/HEAD/trunk/i386/libsaio/nvidia.c
search for "4000"

And it is also in the GFX card database:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/wiki/index.php/Graphics_Card_Database

Best thing to do with these specific requests for hardware that isn't that common (and v expensive) is to ask on one of the threads where people own one rather than asking the general user build section.
