Adding AMD 280x graphics card

I've got a XFX R9 280X and works in Sierra 10.12.6 via mini display port [email protected] with no issues (following all the usual steps but with whatevergreen to fix wake to black screen).

It's far too noisy though with its dual fans and any badly coded website that drives the GPU hard, so I'm looking at the fanless XFX 460 did you manage to get your 480 working?
