Adding 8560w to Install Guide and Clover

BAM! With trying other default frame buffer personalities, I got VGA working! I try to combine it with my customised personality and I got dual monitor, laptop + VGA working at the same time. The only issue left is that, the resolution of VGA output detection is incorrect. It does give really high resolutions but none of them seems to come from EDID of the monitor... I will keep posted of my progress. :D

Update #1:
No matter how, I cannot get resolution working on VGA monitor. I thus check its official website (ThinkVision LT2452p) and it doesn't say that it supports Mac system. So I assume this is the problem and I will not go further experimenting with it. However, none of the Hot Plugs working, neither the laptop screen nor the VGA monitor. Changing hot-plug-id doesn't help as well. I will leave it for now and enjoy VGA working first.

Update #2:
There is no way that the OS X is picking up EDID from my VGA monitor. Therefore I have followed this post to provide the EDID it needs. Now the resolution is fully working!
I have also tried to use SwitchResX, but somehow it doesn't work at all. Could be that I am running El Capitan now.

If you can get VGA port work well (you should try another monitor for reference), please post the patch you have done, so I can add to the PBI CE.

About backlight brightness, same problem with 8460p AMD 6470M. Brightness works (with backlight injector in PBI CE) in 10.10.3, then stops working in 10.10.4, so you upgraded to El Capitan and brightness works again? I guess USB 3.0 port does not work in 10.11 right?

I cannot say VGA is 'fully' working, as it does not support hot plug and play. It only works if it is connected when OSX is booting. But at least, it is working. Sadly I don't have other monitors that supports OSX at hand to try out EDID recognition issue.

For my 8560w AMD, I use ATI Connector Patch in Clover. Shall I send you those values? After then, I also modify /System/Library/Displays/Contents/Resources/Overrides/ file to inject EDID and get full resolution on VGA display. What about this part? Clover EDID injection doesn't work for external display I think.

You are correct, backlight brightness works after I upgrade to El Capitan. USB 3.0 is not working in El Capitan. I forgot whether it was working or not in Yosemite. :)

SysPrefs->Displays... hold "Option" key... press "Detect Displays".

It'd be helpful if you can share the VGA patch. I think your laptop has VGA and DP port right?

Indeed there is also a DP port. I don't have DP cable therefore I cannot test it. This means that my patch probably only works for LVDS and VGA. Further tests are necessary for DP port.

Which framebuffer are you using right now?

The system auto selects Cattail for my graphic card, therefore I didn't specify it in Clover. But the connector data does refer to frame buffer Cattail.
 
Follow the guide, finally I made my Elitebook become HackMacBook, big thank for all your help. My laptop has Video, sound, internet... but I would like to use Wifi on my HackMacbook. Is it possible if someone give me the suggestion about wifi adapter, Which's one work with EliteBook 8560w?
