I have successfully installed (again) OSX 10.8.5 on my ASUS P5E3 Deluxe motherboard with NVIDIA GT610 graphics. The ethernet works great out of the box but the audio (which I have had working at some point a couple years ago) does not work.

Does anyone have experience with this mobo or another with that sound chip who knows of a kext that works?

I have tried various VoodooHDA to no avail, have not tried AppleHDA....as I don't recall those ever working either.

Thanks!

[SOLVED] AD1998B Sound Chip on an ASUS P5E3 Deluxe

Figured it out! Could not have done it without you!

For anyone else with this issue I have attached the kext file I used. Simply installed with Kext wizard, fixed permission, rebuilt cache, etc...and rebooted computer (had to do that for it to work).

This does not work with SPDIF-out. The other audio outputs do however work.

Kext was removed. The driver seems unstable and causes Kernel Panics in it's current state.

Was wondering if this could work for my board since I've read somehwere that the chip is somewhat similar to my AD2000B, but the zip is broken?
