Which Atheros device is it? You could try the kext here (add your vendor id/device id): https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Atheros-3k-Firmware

vendor id / device id should be determined on cold boot (eg. without firmware loaded).

Its a composite Wifi+Bluetooth half PCIe card.
the AR5BWB222, AR9462

will cold boot and see if info is the same without the firmware...

Your WiFi is not supported, so you're probably going to replace the whole thing anyway...

Well... I just got a nano USB for WIFI (TP LINK) that works good, so this way I can conserve the bluetooth too. (and replacing the card on this notebook is complex you have to dissasemble all the machine... anyway dont know if I can found anything that works here in AR)

The information on Hardware/Bluetooth is the same, with a cold boot, only difference it dont find any device. but it shows everything like if it was working.

is there any info I can provide? with ioregistyexplorer or from terminal?

PD: I already known that wifi will not work... but replacing the card could be a headache.

With the IDs the same before and after firmware load, that particular firmware loader is definitely not compatible (devices it is compatible with start with one set of ids and change after firmware is loaded).

Must be some other firmware procedure/initialization happening... Google might help you find it, but maybe not, most people would be swapping this card out.

You might search for a USB WiFi/BT combo.
