 Accidental upgrade to 10.8.5 from 10.8.2.
Stuck at 98% of the installation for 4 hours.
After restart: stuck at Apple Logo and Spinning Wheel

Got into Safe Mode. I've just learned about -x and -v last night.
Everything worked. Graphics were laggy.
No Time Machines backups... I have no Unibeast USB.

Installed Multibeast. After that everything got even more screwy. Boot screen changed from the slick dualboot graphics to this more 'tonymac' style screen:

Followed by these:

Can't get into Safe Mode anymore.
Can't shutdown computer (auto restarts every time).

I don't know what to do now. I'm panicking like a kernel!

Any assistance is greatly appreciated., it feels like I'm just making it worse

It looks like a graphics problem to me. Are you using GraphicsEnabler=No ??

Thank you for replying.

I tried -v PCIRootUID=0 GraphicsEnabler=No
before I went into safe mode and installed Multi Beast.

Should I enter that line at the bootscreen or just GraphicsEnabler=No ?

Try adding "-f" as well. I could be a poor/failed kernel cache rebuild...

Tried -v PCIRootUID=0 GraphicsEnabler=No -f

First the grey screen then this black screen (same as before?):

Definitely a graphics issue. Interesting that AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB is trying to load on your system which has Nvidia discrete graphics. Are you sure you have BIOS setup to disable onboard graphics?

Is it this option in the bios?

Holy smokes! I'm in!

How can I start as pre-upgrade again (with no grey and black screens) and change back to the orignal bootscreen?

I would say so (note: I don't have your board).
