Hello there!

First of all, I want to thank everyone for all the messages on this board.
The amount of information is really really helpful.

So, I need a computer, I will only use that computer for music production.
And I have couple of questions regarding
1.CPU Cooler
2.Graphics Card and
3. Motherboard.

1.

I need a very silent computer. The suggestion is Corsair H60

Is it dead silent?
What are the other alternatives?
The
Zalman CNPS8000B Low Profile (Air) is currently out of stock.

2.
Regarding the Graphic Card, I don't need that fancy card suggested:
EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB SSC

But, do I even need a graphic card to use Ableton? Can't I use the built-in graphic card?
I can save some $

3.
I can't find the Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD3 or any others Mother Board suggested in the list:
Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD3 Ultra
Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5)
at the moment. Sold out pretty much everywhere in France.

Will try other stores. But the price of the UD3 suddenly rises of 30euros for no reason!

What's the cheapest/simplest/OK alternative?

Other components are from the Custom Mac Pro
-Core i7-6700K (already ordered it)
-Crucial Ballistix Sport LT (16GB)
-
Samsung 850 EVO 500GB

-Corsair RM 650x Watt

As I'm a newbie, I wanna go for the easy route (installation wise).

If you have other suggestions for a dedicated music production computer, I'd be glad to read them.

Cheers,
J-P

Ah! I used the Forum -> Create New Post. Didn't realize it won't be on the right section.

Will re-post it. please delete this thread.

It's perfectly ok to post here in Buying Advice. If you post in the Music section, others with more experience specifically with Music Production builds, will see it and offer their advice.

As of today it looks best to go with an all Kaby Lake / Z270 system as Apple will be fully supporting that this year, probably sometime in July. So you can buy a Z270 board and pair it with an I7-7700 or K version of that CPU. You can still use the 6700 but you will miss out on some of the features the Z270 chipset offers. None of them are critical to music production though. Since the Z170 prices are now higher than Z270 it makes sense to take that approach. Personally I would return/exchange the 6700K for the 7700K and build with that.
