8400GS "yes another post"

Brand new gigabyte 8400GS 2011 model.

I have followed all the posts including the Spanish (I think) one and I am this far along.

P55m UD2 MOBO by the way.

after adding the 0x10c310de string to the NVDANV50HAL plist
and using EFI studio to adjust bootlist

I get the card recognized as 8400GS again (it did this before after a clean install but no acceleration or resolutions)

And it now does correct resolutions, out of DVI, and it can see that there is another output port, but when I connect a VGA cable to it nothing is recognized, even after clicking detect displays

I'm now up to 13 hours on this and I'm stuck. Please anyone have any ideas?

right now it will switch output to whatever port has a cable in it, but only one screen if both DVI and VGA are connected.

Also on the sys profiler if i change the cable from dvi to vga it still says its the second display port connected and the top one is "no device detected"

Think i'm going to buy a used older 8400GS off ebay as it'll just work
