Was just checking Newegg to see what a good entry level, dual boot macOS and Windows 10 gaming focused system would cost. It turns out to be quite affordable, even if you don't go cheap for an inferior case and power supply. This build can obviously work for much more than just gaming. You can easily use it for audio work, video editing with iMovie or FCP X. Photo editing would work too if you upgrade to a 32GB ram kit. Really an endless number of things this is good for.

Has 16 GB of ram, an RX 570 (great for 1080p gaming) Asus mATX motherboard, gold rated 550W Seasonic PSU, and an i3-9100F which is really a good entry level gaming CPU. It has no igfx but for gaming no need to have that. It performs about on par with a $200 Kaby Lake i5. The DLM21 mATX case is one of the best I've seen at that price point. Now has a mesh front like the Meshify C for better airflow. Liquid cooling works too if you want that. You can make a super clean, good looking build and show it off through the clear glass side panel door. Amazing value for what you're getting.

When I look back at the first hackintosh build I made 8 years ago, it was similar but I only had 8GB of ram, no dedicated graphics, a much cheaper mATX case. We're talking $25 with no airflow and no cable management. A 430W non-modular PSU and a small 64GB SSD boot drive. CPU was a dual core i3-2105 clocked at 3.1 GHz. I paid well over $600 for that build back then. Today you get so much more for your money. If I needed a new build this is what I'd opt for except I'd skip the Team T-Force ram. RGB ram is just a gimmick to attract gamers. Looks cool but adds nothing else of value.

This build will cost hundreds less than a pre-built CyberPower PC or other system focused on gaming. The best part is that you get to choose all your individual parts for the build and they're all under warranty. Sweet. Note that the DLM21 case doesn't come with fans so plan on buying at least two high quality 120 mm fans for your case. I would suggest:

Buy 2 and you get free shipping at Amazon.com - $27.80 for two fans that should last 8 years or more.

If you want a single white LED fan in front, this 140mm Corsair would look nice.

If you are building new today, this build will last you a good number of years. You can always upgrade to a 6 core 9th gen Coffee Lake i5 or i7 later on. Prices will have come down years from now, especially on the used market. Graphics card upgrades will be another option to keep your build relevant as games get more graphically intensive.

Here's the parts I selected:

The storage choices assume you already have a Windows 10 SSD/HDD and a license to use. You'd install Catalina on the ADATA SSD and use the 500 GB Seagate to store games photos, videos etc. You can also add an extra $40 1TB HDD.

When you add in around $28 for two Noctua 120mm case fans the total puts you at $590. If you like RGB take a look at the Aigo brand fans that go well with the DLM21. Aigo DR12 RGB case fans

I have one 8 GB Team T-force RGB ram stick for my G5 build. I will say it cycles through the colors very nicely and the LED cover is opaque so it’s softened down. I guess I’m just a sucker for pretty lights.

Your G5 has no window so you'll have to open up the side panel to see it. Pretty easy to do with a G5. Easy access. OTOH you could use a dremel, cut an opening in the side and put in some acrylic...... I forgot, this is a no cut G5 hackintosh we're talking about. Sorry. ;)

Not for this specific hardware. Search with the name of the motherboard in User Builds to see what is there.
