560ti / Gigabyte P67 UD3P-B3 w/ ALC889, Need help :(

I have a 99% working build, but can't manage to get the hdmi audio out working.

I've been through the guides and have read up on as much as I understand about it, but I can't seem to wrap my head around what I need to do to get this working. My motherboard has a matching dsdt, but I guess I need to modify it to accommodate the audio? I have no clue how to do that, or what I need to replace and what I need to replace it with.

Can anyone help me out without just linking back to the guides? I need the explain-it-like-i'm-five version.

I'll post whatever necessary information in order to have this work.

Then what's the next thing I need to look at/do after having a stable dsdt for my motherboard? I tried the post-install ALC889 patcher under the audio kexts, but it seems to break the install each time.
