Hi Toleda

Wondered if you could spare a moment as I have an issue that I need guidance on.

For months I was able to watch videos encoded with 5.1 audio track on my stereo TV.

But now, for no apparent reason, I'm only getting the L R channels and not centre, I can't hear anyone talk.

I have tried everything I can think of with regards to settings in mac os x and on the TV, so I beginning to suspect i have a Hackintosh bug

NVIDIA driver is up to date and I have tried different HDMI cables

Your ideas would be most appreciated, thanks.

What is your definition of 5.1 encoded audio?

MacOS does not touch the digital audio stream, passthrough only.

Not a macOS issue.
VLC may be the issue. See AppleHDA Surround Sound [Guide]. Try other media players.

5 channels, front, left, right, rear left, rear right.

It Could be VLC, but it was working fine for 6 months

I'll look into the guide soon, thanks for sharing
