4x30 F.41 BIOS Available

Is safe to update? Anyone have already tried?

i dont have problem after update. everything is OK
 
Updated without issue. On my system, there was no need to re-patch DSDT since the DSDT has not changed from F.40. In fact, DSDT for F.30, F.31, and F.41 are all identical:

Now do i update bios? There is just some exe file. I don't have Windows. The bios says i should put some file in usb stick but i don't believe exe file would be visible to him.

You need to have a Windows installation on your laptop itself or a Windows machine with which to create a USB stick to do the update.
 
right. I had to download windows xp iso, load to usb stick with unetbootin, change something in bios from ahci to ata and install windows on the probook. Only after this I could update bios. Very painful.
What is really disappointing about hp is that there is the option directly in BIOS to update. It should search bios in the usb stick but there is no such thing to download from hp site, just an exe file.

Yes, this laptop like most PC laptops is optimized for Windows. In HP's defense, updating the BIOS is very easy if you have Windows installed.
 
Hi, I just updated my 4530s to F.41 Bios, I did this by booting ERD65 from a USB stick, booted a windows explorer, then used the windows Bios update which I placed on the same USB stick, bit dodgy I know, but worked a treat. I had trouble finding an 'old' USB stick which actually worked.
