To my amazement, I finally got this monster machine working.

Tyan S7010 (upgradable to 6 cores per socket)
Nehalem 3GHz 8 total cores.
48GB DDR3 1333 Memory (12x 4GB sticks)
256GB SSD
nvidia Quadro FX 1700

The Intel LAN didn't seem to load, which was strange since it works on all the other machines. Intel LAN chipset is 82574L.

No audio cards onboard, so I didn't get that rolling yet.

Queue the 2001 monolith picture....

Oh my god, its full of ram (and cores).

That's funny.

Just minutes ago, I got an attached 48 Terabyte RAID hooked up and working.

It's a RAID 0, so no data security, but for fast data I/O like a few streams of 4K HD files, it'll do well. It can read 1,500MB/s and write at about 1,100MB/s.

Wow ! that is sick !! yeah !!!!

Wow.
What, if anything, are you going to do with that?

I was just thinking the same thing.

These systems were built for other uses, but ended up testing it just for the heck of it. More of a challenge thing I guess.
