no. it wil not work. need card with hp p/n label, likesolidslash said:Hi guys!
I just ordered a 4530s for me but I'm still unsure whether it's got Atheros or Ralink card.
However, I found an offer on a polish "ebay-esque" website : http://allegro.pl/dell-wireless-dw1702- ... 06655.html I do realise that it says Dell in the title, but everything other than that seems to be ok...
Will this thing work in OSX?
I went to the above thread, it's about rebranding the card to make it "Apple branded" but in order to pass the whitelist, you have to make it "HP/Compaq branded".BigDonkey said:If you have enough room better get full size card. They are known to work better with Apple drivers than half-size.AtomeX said:Than'k you BibDonkey,
The original kext is loaded but I have this error in the kernel.log (si_doattach: srom_var_init failed: bad srom), what do you think about this ?
I have (AR9485 802.11 bgn) wifi card in my laptop. It's range is low and speed is bad. Can i install a new 802.11ac card in my laptop? I don't know if it is compatible with my laptop.
Can anyone help me, please. I have a 4530s. I am running 10.11.6 with a 1080p screen, 8gb RAM and a 512gb SSD. It runs perfectly, everything works. Been this way for years.
Recently I thought I’d like to upgrade the WiFi card from the b/g/n that it came with. I bought the following:
HP Broadcom BCM943224HMS Wireless Wifi N Half Card 582564-001 802.11abgn
..but when I boot, it gives me an unsupported error in BIOS, error 702. BIOS is the latest 63 version (I just updated it to that, from 60, but the issue remains).
I thought this card was supported, no?
You cannot install that card in the 4530s due to the BIOS whitelist.
