Grazie anticipatamente
e buon lavoro!!

Scusate per il mio inglese
If, it is BCM4313 14e4:4727 then is not supported.
Vendor and product PCI-ID will help you better identify the card

Hello BigDonkey,

Have you ever thought about taking a generic card and write the EEPROM,
to change the subsys, and put the right one?
I saw that you mentioned this, and I am going to try, but I need a hand:

http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/ath9k_hw

Now I have a modded bios InsydeH20 F1b without withelist and Atheros AR9285.
I would put the original bios!

Think we can do?

P.S. Unfortunately, I do not know how to know, what is accepted by my bios :?:

UPDATE:

I think I have the tool now to do what I have in mind using Windows,
I miss a modified rom (but I have not yet pressed the button, so do not know if it works)
Atheros EEprom.GIF

Something similar with the method / card different on InsanelyMac,
I just need someone to help :)

Bad news.
518434-001 not working. On boot instead of "error 104" I'm getting "Wireless Module not Supported 0702"

What's interesting all VID/PIDs 14e4:4353 103c:1509 match the whitelist. BIOS must have some additional checks implemented.

@philip_petev
I hope you have more luck with international version of the card.

My card has arrived yesterday, but it wasn't 518434-002 as it was advertised. It was 518434-001 (14E4:4353 103C:1509), the IDs were exact as these in the whitelist, but it was rejected by the laptop. Last week I've tried one BCM94313 adaptop, pulled out from one HP Compaq laptop (14E4:4727 103C:145C) and the ProBook had accepted it. I don't understand, WTF is this, whitelist, which don't accept cards with IDs, included in it? Maybe there is some additional check or something like this, but who knows... I've learned one more thing - only Broadcom cards with SSB Backplane SPROM can be modified (the chips prior to 94322 incl. 943227 and 943228). The newest models, handled by the new linux OSS drivers brcmfmac and brcmsmac(94313, 943224, 943225 and 94330), cannot be modified this way (or at least there is no one yet, who has managed to do this). Sorry guys, but it seems, that's all for now. I'll continue to investigate the possibility of rebranding the newest Broadcom cards.

Update 06.04.2012: Today, I've got my hands on the international version of this card (518434-002), but it was rejected as well. This whitelist is so wrong...

I have a Dell Inspiron 15r n5110 so I don't need to worry about whitelists. I just installed the Dell 1520 variant of the BCM43224 and must sadly report that it does not work :(

The IO80211Family kext and AirPortBrcm4331 both load as evidenced by kextstat but that's about it. I also tried removing the pci14e4,4353 property from AirPortBrcm4331 and adding it to AppleAirPortBrcm43224. Unfortunately, same result. kextstat shows that both kexts are successfully loaded but no still sign of an interface.

A bit of research seems to bear out that all others who have tried this WiFi card on a HackBook have failed.

If anybody has any ideas, I'm willing to try.

bisk

Oh, and I'm running the latest Lion 10.7.3 in 64 bit mode.

Maybe you can try here:

seems that someone has had success with your card

This was the first guide I've found on the net and it's really very usefull, but it cannot be applied for the new Broadcom chips (94313, 943224, 943225, 94330).
