This was not an issue in 10.9 Mavericks but with 10.10 Yosemite, my ProBook 4350s' display will not run at fully brightness by itself. It seems that its running at 50-60% brightness levels.

I have checked:

  • F2/F3 dimness buttons to verify its maxed
  • SysPref > Display > Brightness is shown as maxed
  • SysPref > Energy Saver > Display Sleep > Set to never on AC Power.

The only way to "fix" it is to readjust the brightness manually under Display. It will allow full brightness then. I assume there is patch for this that I am just unable to locate?

Download patchmatic: https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-MaciASL-patchmatic.
Extract the 'patchmatic' binary from the ZIP. Copy it to /usr/bin, such that you have the binary at /usr/bin/patchmatic.

In terminal,
Code:
rm -Rf ~/Downloads/RehabMan
mkdir ~/Downloads/RehabMan
cd ~/Downloads/RehabMan
patchmatic -extract

Post contents of Downloads/RehabMan directory (as ZIP).

Also, post ioreg: http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/58368-guide-how-make-copy-ioreg.html. Please, use the IORegistryExplorer v2.1 attached to the post! DO NOT reply with an ioreg from any other version of IORegistryExplorer.app.
