4530s / Clamshell Mode

well .. i finally got my mackintosh sorted & currently running lion 10.7.4

Big thanks to every1 from this site with your info & applications

the only problem is I cannot get the clamshell mode working properly!
I want to use an external screen with the laptop lid closed but whenever i do this the hdmi screen drops off & the laptop will not wake properly from sleep!


any advice?

leave the lid open

this is not a real mac either .......
there was the little thing not work

it works with wired usb mouse & keyboard .. I just got it going

I think I used to use an app called Insomnia to prevent sleep, Google it.

I tried "no sleep" "caffeine" & "insomniax"

None of them worked!! The only thing that currently works for me is hard wired USB keyboard & mouse.. Not my Bluetooth kb/m or my Logitech wireless kb/m's...

Alas I have it running so that's a start .. And I have a few ideas on working around the problem but those ideas incorporate hard wired devices.. If only there was a software workaround to trick the system

CONFIRMED!
Install and go to the icon at the top of the screen which is a half moon and click the 1st option.
Disable lid sleep

But... Are you using a wired or wireless kb & mouse?
