Hello everyone. I am new and don't have any experiences with creating OS X system.

Option 1 is very little used (no warranty anymore) and Option 2 is renewed (or even new) with official 1 year HP warranty (possible to get HP Care Pack).

I read in this thread (http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-probook-4530s/78905-guide-installing-snow-leopard-hp-probook.html) "The built in card is Atheros AR5B195. Reading a comment on the Lion FAQ I understood this is just a different name for the AR9285 card."

Is this really so?

Really subtle differences between those two. It comes down to your personal choice.

AR9285 and AR5B195 are the same card. The second option comes with 8GB of memory. It will give little more advantage over single 4GB memory board.

If you don't plan upgrading to 1080p screen you might also consider 4540S. Nice improvements over 4530S.

Thank you for info!

Great. So (according to guidelines) Wi-Fi with both options should work without any problems I guess?

Yes, but on the long run I was thinking of upgrading to 16 GB actually.

Getting 4540s would be much easier for me since 4530s is almost not available in Eu. But I thought ONLY 4530s is supported for OS X (this is what guidelines says)?! This is why I was searching for this one. Any further information please?

4540S is in the main HP Probook Forum

Also new installer 6.1 will be released with 4540S support.

4540S
- comes with new chipset HM76 and two CPU flavors Sandy or Ivy Bridge
- fan works at lowers speeds and makes less noise
- no more whitelist (any OS X supported WiFi card works)
- can use lid to put laptop to sleep and awake
That's just to name a few. Hope for 1080p support if we can get hands on 4740S LVDS cable and test for compability.
