3rd Party USB 3.0 - GenericUSBXHCI.kext Working in 10.11.2

Test (eg. BlackMagic benchmark) with adequately fast device.

Thanks RehabMan !

I measured with an external HD LaCie Quadra that has eSata and USB 3.0 ports

eSata and USB 3.0 measured almost the same speed around 135 Mb/s

However I understand that USB 3.0 should be faster

USB 2.0 was about 34MB/s

HDDs are limited by the HDD itself (just the nature of spinning magnetic media).

Compared to SSDs, HDDs cannot come close to saturating either SATA nor USB3.

Thanks for good job.

Working on Asus IV Rampage Gene, but there is two bugs:

- not show in System Profiler
- after boot is needed 3 times insert and reject flash disk, then is function

For Intel, as said it worked using your solution. The other USB chipsets are ASMedia ASM1074 and Renesas uPD720202. Thanks

Try with GenericUSBXHCI.kext (my latest version). It will not affect your Intel situation but may help with the others.

Asus P8P67 with NEC USB 3.0 controller not showing in System profiler, but working at USB 2.0 (?) speeds. For now I left it disabled in BIOS.

Not expected in System Information.

What device did you test with? How did you test it?

Awesome, got my USB 3.0 to work on my X79 system (Rampage IV Extreme)! A heads up if you use USBInjectAll.kext to get your USB 2.0 to work, it will break this kext and you will not get USB 3.0 to work! I recently switched to using the DSDT config.plist method for Clover to get my USB 2.0 to work and uninstalled USBInjectAll.kext and that got my USB 3.0 working at full speed!

It seems to actually work better than it did on Yosemite oddly enough. Perhaps my Yosemite install was a bit broken, but I've had less issues with this version. It always recognizes my devices plugged into them quickly and consistently.

USBInjectAll and GenericUSBXHCI do not conflict.

USBInjectAll and GenericUSBXHCI do not conflict.

Hm, that is very strange then that it didn't work prior. If they don't conflict, then I wonder what changed that made it work.
