I've followed a few guides and got my overclock stable at 4.6Ghz. Running 10.9.2, the OC is based on an offset of .010.
System is stable both at idle (left it on for a few days) and running "yes /dev/null/" tests in Terminal for 24 hours.
Temps max out at 60C according to HWMonitor.
The only problem is the CPU multiplier is constantly throttling back to 1.2Ghz. The audio program I use has dropouts that are timed to these throttle backs according to HW Monitor. In the second graph, you can see this with the yellow line. It jumps between x12 and x46.
I've disabled EIST, C-State settings, all power save functions, and SpeedStep.
Not sure what could be causing the throttling. Is there any way to enforce the CPU to stay at 4.6Ghz at all times?
