Sirs,

Forgive me up front. I know just enough knowledge to be dangerous. We're the worst.

I have a beautiful 3770k CPU on a Gigabyte G1.Sniper M3-CF board.

It's a m-atx board and I'm unsure how it would run Mac software.

I've done some quick googling and looking around here and there have been a few users that got the bigger brother G1.Sniper 3. Seems that sound output might be the only issue - with only a hardware solution available to change volume.

Now, this is a z77 board, right? Did I get that right? It seems that all the suggested boards for this processor are x87 solutions. Many of these x87 boards run quite high on ebay.. even for used boards.

What would you guys recommend? Do you think this sniperm3 board is worth trying? Has anyone had success with it? I'd be willing to fork out maybe $80-$100 for a new board (m-atx or atx) if it means it's going to be dead simple and I'll have less hassles.
IF so, can someone recommend me a good board?

I'm guessing a reference 780 will be fine as the GPU too?

Any other last minute tips? Very much looking forward to doing my first machack :)

Best,

Peter

thanks so much @Going Bald.

I've been doing some more research in the last day, and everything kept on pointing to that issue too.

Good to get some confirmation and clear advice. Thanks so much again -
