Established users of macOS High Sierra who wish to update directly to macOS Mojave can do so just like a regular Mac would. This fully native method requires no USB creation or preparation and allows you to keep all of your files and settings.

Before you begin, we strongly recommend performing a full backup of your existing system using Carbon Copy Cloner. By doing this, you can always go back to your working macOS High Sierra installation.

Guide: Update Directly to macOS Mojave

1. Update your existing Clover install to version r4515 or higher using MultiBeast or official Clover package.

2. Open Clover configuration folder on the root of your system drive or EFI Partition using EFI Mounter v3. Copy FakeSMC.kext and any other extra necessary kexts to /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/. If you need essential kexts, download them here.

3. Download Install macOS Mojave Application from the Mac App Store. When complete, the app will open. Please note, the Application will disappear after use.

4. Choose system drive for install (Example: Macintosh HD). When complete, the computer will automatically reboot.

5. At Clover boot screen, choose Boot macOS Install option (Example: Boot macOS Install from Macintosh HD). Choosing your system drive will go back to your previous installation without updating.

6. Complete the installation process- the computer will automatically reboot a few times.

7. At Clover boot screen, choose Boot macOS option (Example: Boot macOS from Macintosh HD). The computer will then complete the update.

Please post your help requests in Mojave Desktop Support forum section.

Please let us know how this guide works for you! Thanks and good luck!

I updated directly over a copy of MyHero II's High Sierra 10.13.6. First, I ran MulitBeast v10.4.0 to just update Clover. Then, I updated the network and USB kexts in /Library/Extensions folder. Rebooted, and I clone the HS disk including copying the EFI folder into the new disk's EFI partition. I downloaded the Mojave installer from the App Store and ran the installer.

I'll be using the Mojave installation only to test and get use to it. I will continue to use HS 10.13.6 until Mojave 10.14.3 comes out with all the major bugs worked out of the system.

Good luck! ..and have fun.

Update went pretty smooth. Mojave doesn't support my Atheros wifi card, but I was able to work around the issue by using High Sierra kext.

Once the installer is downloaded you can make a copy of it, place it on desktop and compress it. After install you will still have a copy just in case you need it later. That way you won’t have to download it again.

Aside from forgetting I had reverted to HFS+ and not adding the apfs.efi before upgrading, learning to copy the driver into EFI using terminal was useful I guess, all is well but audio and wifi

I see others having issues w/TP-Link, and audio should be the usual, don't want to chance breaking anything again today, ha ha

His GT 640 card doesn't need the Nvidia drivers.

I have updated from Sierra to Mojave directly. Without any errors/issues :) Updated clover first, then to Mojave.

Only thing that is not working is my GPU (Gtx 960) as long as the webdrivers are not published yet.
Another thing is sleep, but I will look for a fix later. Otherwise it works like a charm :)

Does anybody have an information about web drivers release date?

This is an older card that has native support. Doesn't need any drivers.
