Hi,

I recently bought a Dell U2711H. I'm using DVI-D to connect it to my motherboard. The BIOS and bootloader are all displayed fine until I get into the login screen, and then it starts showing multiple screens with interlaced lines across the monitor.

I still have a 1080p monitor on hand, but I'd to be using this ASAP.

I would appreciate some help!

Ash.

It would help if you posted your hardware info.. With that said if you are using onboard GFX it won't support 2560x1440, you'll need a suitable GFX card.

HI,

Yes I'm only using the built in Intel HD 4000. Is there a cheap card you could suggest that will get this working.

Cheers for the help.

Not true! intel HD4000 can easily drive an 2560 x 1440 display! Use the display port! Atleast that is what i've heard! If your monitor doesn't support displayport it is very easy to get an adapter! :) IT WILL COST YOU LIKE 5 BUCKS!

What you heard? Doesn't work here...

Hd4000 should support 2560x1440 over display port.

Are you using a regular DVI cable or a dual-link DVI cable? 1920x1200 is the highest you'll get out of HDMI or single-DVI

I can confirm 2560 x 1440 resolution from HD4000, but you must use displayport or dual-link DVI. I currently run it from the Thunderbolt port (mini-displayport) on my GA-Z77-UP5 TH.
