Thought I'd share this beauty of a system for those that are looking for a fast machine.

Geekbench 2 @ 64bit = 20,537
Cinebench 15 Open GL: 121 fps

System

- Gigabyte Z97X UD5H, F8 BIOS
- Intel 4790K 'Devils Canyon' 4GHz
- MSI Twin Frozr 770 GTX
- 32GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical 1.35v 1600Mhz
- Noctua NH15
- Silverstone FT02
- EVGA 1200X P2 Platinum PSU
- Extreme Pro SanDisk SSDs

Bootloader

Clover, using this guide:

Only two kexts used (/EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.10): FakeSMC, Ethernet (Atheros)

10.10.zip (attached) contains FakeSMC, Intel and Atheros kexts.

Audio

External DAC (by far the best solution). This is a bargain:

> HiFimeDIY Sabre USB DAC UAE23 96/24

No compiled DSDT or SSDT. I let Clover do all that for me.

CPU Overclock

CPU turbo 4.7Ghz, using this guide:

> TweakTown Z97X UD5H Overlock Guide (SpeedStep and Turbo)

Memory Overclock

2133Mhz @ 1.5v, 10-9-10-24 (1T)

Make sure you select XMP Profile2 to give you 1.5v, and enter the multiplayer 21.33. 1T is the Command Rate.

Working

- Everything! SpeedStep, sleep. Boots from cold in 14 seconds (seriously), iMessage fixed (loads of guides).

Clover config.plist attached.

I use Clover Configurator (because it’s excellent) for SMBIOS generation and config tweaking. Make sure you use iMac 15,1 as the system definition, it matches the hardware perfectly.

TRIM is enabled via config.plist, so you don't have to worry about that ever again (even after updates).

Thanks for your report.

I've been looking up how to setup my hack with imac 15,1 SMBIOS because i have a Haswell refresh CPU ( i5 4690S ) and i found your post mentioning it.

Care to explain how you created a 15,1 profile since it doesn't exist in Clover Config yet? Did you just change the model number?
