Most threads around here seem to focus on bluetooth, wifi, handoff etc.

All of that works. Even apple watch unlock works over wifi

What doesn't work is airdrop. Wifi is enabled, bluetooth is enabled, vendor is apple, what am I missing? Is 20702B0 just too old? I know Big sur still supports it but is it end of life and too old to support a newer feature like air drop? Will it even work with air play in macOS 12? I think it's safe to assume if air drop doesn't work air play probably won't either.

The 20702B0 is installed via an internal USB header and pci slot.

Using Big Sur 11.6 and Opencore 0.7.3. Not using airport/bluetooth fixup since it isn't needed with a native card, but I did try it for heck of it and it made no difference.

I'm on Big Sur 11.6 and AirDrop works fine with my BRCM20702 (20702B0 chipset). It's the most often used Continuity feature for me.

On your hack, in Finder, press [Command]+[Shift]+[R].
Next, on your iPhone, iPad, or whatever, try to AirDrop something to your hack.

command shift R does nothing.

All the menus that would be there if airdrop worked aren't there. airdrop cannot be enabled anywhere either and inn the report as you can see watch unlock featuer is there but airdrop is missing entirely. When I try to airdrp from iOS device they simply don't see hack

It's as if the OS simply doesn't recognize card can do air drop, which makes no sense considering everything else works fine. Heck when did searches I couldn't find anyone that has broken airdrop but working everything else. Usually multiple things are broken or JUST the watch is, but for me it's JUST airdrop.

You don't have the following?

That's weird. I've never encountered that...

So google FINALLY didn't let me down, found this

it was this problem
com.apple.NetworkBrowser DisableAirDrop

It was set to true. I have never done that. No idea how that flag ever got set. That flag makes it very unclear it's disabled though because feature is literally yanked out of everywhere.
