Of course there's a difference. Look up benchmarks for the two models and compare yourself. Whether you care is up to your specific needs.

i did...when it comes to graphics cards, my IQ is -25, so is 200 stream processors a lot or a little?

a 6870 is a very popular card but you'ld want to be careful there is some of them not that compatible they need to be reference design

any way i dont know anything about minecraft but i had a look and id assume getting a $150 gfx card would be like using a sledge to drive a nail

id prefer nvidia too
cant put my finger on why though (although i get hdmi audio with voodoo hda with dual monitors on my gt 450 and gt220 cant on the 5770's i have tried with dsdt edits but not with two monitors)

Buy that card, you'll be just fine and happy with it.
I have the Sapphire reference design card and play SWTOR, WOW, Divinity 2 and a poop load of Steam games all on high or ultra res with no issues.

I can also run three monitors off it just fine, even though I currently just run one 27" but when we were testing the GPUs for Lion the 6870 dis just fine.
