GTX 560Ti causes black screen DURING startup + Finder freezes

System info:
GA-Z87MX-D3H
Intel 4770K
Asus GTX 560Ti Direct CU II 1GB
Samsung 840 Pro 128GB Boot Drive
OS 10.9.4

GraphicsEnabler=No (tried Yes, but then computer wouldn't boot at all)

I just bought a used GTX 560 Ti. I plugged it straight into my Hackintosh and it seem to be working fairly well except for a couple of quirks.

1. When I boot my system my screen does not receive any signal from the card until I reach the desktop. This means I'm not seeing the motherboard splash screen, The Chimera Boot Loader screen or the grey Apple start up screen. Instead the screen is black all the way throughout the startup sequence and then I'm already at the desktop when the screen lights up. For obvious reasons I need to fix this somehow! Does anyone have a clue?

2. I get random freezes when in Finder, from what I think is when using OpenCL stuff. The whole system freezes completely except for the mouse. I can usually trigger this using Quick Look for ex. It works for a while but then freezes up. Yesterday I left the system running all day when I was at work however, and it had not frozen when I got home, so it's definitely an issue triggered by usage.

I recently updated from 10.9.3 to 10.9.4, but I had both these problems under 10.9.3 as well. I'm reluctant to try and install the Nvidia web Drivers because they don't state support for the 500-series.

I'm currently connecting the screen with a DVI-HDMI cable, using the DVI output on the card and the HDMI input on the monitor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, I got it to work without freezing my comp, but my screen is still black during the whole boot process, which is super annoying.

How can I tell WHICH PCI slot the card is in without reading the BIOS? Can I see it somehow in OS X and/or using a Terminal -command maybe? I wanna try and set the GFX card to primary output source and see if that fixes this issue.. but then I need to know what slot to point to..

On my mother board is says from top to bottom on the PCI slots:

PCIEX4 - Empty
PCIEX8 - GFX card
PCIEX1 - WiFi card
PCIEX16 - Empty

My BIOS settings let's me choose between "PCI1, PCI2, PCI3".. wtf?

Any help appreciated!
