All of my components are compatible. Others have had successful builds with mostly OOB success. Here is where I stand:
1. Installed Lion using unibeast. The only way to get unibeast installer to launch was by using:
-"GraphicsEnabler=No"
-VGA cable
-USB stick in USB2.0 slot)
2. Ran multibeast using the attached settings

Issues:
1. I can not boot without GraphicsEnabler=NO (startup will freeze otherwise)
2. VGA is the only port that works (no image otherwise)

I have scoured the web looking for solutions:
1. Select GraphicsEnabler=Yes in multibeast (I can't find this option)
2. Altering the EFI string: http://www.osx86.net/view/1816-geforce_gtx_550_ti_for_lion_-_opengl-efi_...html
3. Changing multibeast to macmini or macbookpro 8,x

I feel like I am really close and am missing something easy. I have never edited kexts before. I read that you alter them in the OS by clicking on the kext...show package contents etc. That being said my setup should be working OOB, which is why I went with this sandy bridge setup (even though I hate this mobo, not really sure why, just a feeling). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update: I played around a little more and got it 95% there.

Working: HDMI on the mobo working by updating multibeast with system definitions...macbook pro...8,1 (has anyone had success with other system definitions?
Working: System starts up without any additional codes
Working: optical audio out
Working: 16GB RAM
Working: app store and other mac applications.

NOT working: Nvidia GeForce GTX 550ti 1GB GDDR5.
NOT working: USB 3.0

Almost there, just have to figure out this graphics card. I increased the on-chip frame buffer (within in the bios to the max amount so that the mobo HD3000 will use RAM but sometimes the trackpad is lethargic) got the system to boot.

I might just return my graphics card and get one that people are having more luck/are 100% compatible with mountain lion for when I upgrade. Any suggestions for this would be greatly appreciated

The 550ti is problematical on many builds. Go with the 560 TI or one of the 6xx series if you want to go nVidia.
