Hello, Im planning on building a hackintosh soon and pretty much all thats left is the motherboard & the graphics card. Im building this computer for graphic design, mostly photoshop with some basic website / html coding (No video editing but maybe some light gaming). I have a sorta fixed price range on what I want to spend. Close to $150 for a 2GB DDR5 graphics card and for a haswell LGA 1150 motherboard around $150 to almost $200.
Im going with a Intel i5 4670K CPU.
I have a couple of questions so I though I'll include them all here ...

Motherboards:
- Does any motherboard work for a hackintosh as long as the cpu fits?
I know the guides here prefer Gygabite mobos but i found these (Asus & MSI) ones which are comparable to the high end Gygabite ones at a better price, would they work?

Graphics Card:
- Same thing as the motherboard... does any graphics card work as long as the mobo supports it?
Theres this Asus Radeon 7770 one priced around $110, I know it works with hackintoshes but does anyone have any experience with it? should i get a higher end one? (Not a NVIDIA one i dont have or want to spend $300 for it). Would i be better of buying one of the similarly priced on the guide?
- Whats the difference in bits? 128, 192 etc? I know higher is better, but what does it affect performance wise?
- Whats the most popular one around here thats 2GB DDR5 around $150?

Powersupply:
- Does any powersupply work with a hackintosh as long as its certify to work with haswell and has the adequate watts?
Im going with a modular one (less cable mess the better). How much watts would the mobo, cpu & GPU i choose take?

Thanks, I know its a lot of questions but I want to be sure they're compatible

I just flashed the bios on a MSI Z77A-G45 version of the MSI board you listed. Worked perfectly. It was
the easiest install of OS X on a non-Gigabyte board that I've ever done. The MSI Z77 ATX prices have
been dramatically reduced on Newegg. Can likely get one the next two days for about 60 dollars
after rebate. Haswell doesn't give a huge performance boost for desktops, it mainly gives you
more energy efficiency for laptops. You would of course have to use a 3570K instead of the
4670K if you go with a Z77 version.

All of the Z77 Asus and MSI motherboards required the flashing of a modified/patched ROM to make
cpu power management on Intel cpus work. The Z87 versions may not require that but it may vary
with different motherboard models. You'll need to search the forums with the specific model names
to see if it is required.

As far as the graphics card goes, the AMD cards you listed will work with the possible addition of
a kext for certain models. The Nvidia cards work OOB. The PSU you listed is more than you'll need
with your current build specs. I'd go with a 550 or 650 watt gold rated PSU from either Seasonic or
Corsair. These can be gotten on Newegg as well in the 60-70 dollar range AR. Wishing you good
luck on your new build !
