Hi,

Has anyone got 1gbps speeds working on there hack? Ive bought some CAT6 Solid Ethernet Cable Reel and made my own Cables and terminated them correctly however i can't seem to get over 100megs over Ethernet in OS X but seems to work fine in Windows. Ive tried Intel NICs and Realtek but no difference. Would Anyone have any ideas? My Network Switches indicates 1gbp connection I've played around with System Preferences -> Network -> Hardware, Changed from automatically to Manual set 1000baseT, Full Duplex but makes no difference. The cabling I'm using is UTP CAT6 Solid Twisted in B configuration. Ethernet cabling everything from the Server to the Network Switches is CAT6 Cabling.

Thanks.

How are testing?

Seems like that test is using a file...
So, your performance will likely be limited to the device that file is stored on...

So basically it could be the drives? Im using NAS drives in my Server. It takes about 7 minutes to copy over a 30GB file but the problem is that it starts copying the file then stops and starts again its not a constant copying. Ive also tested with a SSD takes around the same time also. The drives I'm using are these. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00D1GYNU8/?tag=tonymacx86-21

A proper network speed test does not involve any file/disk I/O.

I found the root of my problem. Using the Router as the Switch was causing the issue i moved to a proper 1gbp Network Switch and i get this result. This test uses no disk writing.
