Apparently it was meant to be used in place of the Intel kexts for Big Sur 11.3 when they failed.

Anyways I just read the guide says the device-ids should be removed for the I-225V.

Correction: looks like according to Dortania guide above you need to remove the FakePCIID Intel I-225V kexts completely for Big Sur 11.4 because the AppleIntelI210Ethernet has been expanded to include it for support. That’s your fix right there!

Does AppleIntelI210Ethernet.kext in Big SUr 11.4 has device-id 0x15f3 ?
I'm little bit confused between the two methods

• with FakePCIID.kext & device-id 0x15f2
• without FakePCIID.kext & device-id 0x15f38680

The second is only for BS 11.4, Am I right ?

Yes I can disable both. If I disable only booth booting vent fine but you just needs to disconnect the two cables for booting. Check my thread here https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/348114-cant-update-big-sur-113-to-114/

On my quest for solving this issue
I booted on the first BS 11.4 witch was a fresh install
and its working.
Seems like my good old always updated BigSur is rotten.
I'll try to clone the first BS 11.4 and do a migration

Clone + Migration didn't help ....
EDIT
I also try with a new admin USER .... without success

I works with no doubt on 11.4 fresh install only, but not with my Migration.
It means that my Migration add conflicting files. I need help to search them.

What I try so far :
Removing Library (root) ➧ Preferences ➧ SystemConfiguration Folder (except com.apple.Boot.plist file)
Removing Library (root) ➧ Preferences ➧ any **network**.plist file

But no improvement.
Any ideas ?
