I have a 2006 Mini which has been upgraded with an SSD, a 2.33 gHz C2D chip, and firmware 2,1, so that it now acts like a 2007 Mini. It originally had a 2GB RAM limit, but with the upgraded firmware it actually has 4 GB RAM, and can "see" 3 GB.

It's been running 10.7 Lion for two years like a champ, using a simple installation hack, and I think it is capable of running Mavericks with some UniBeast love. Am I correct?

I've followed the instructions to get the 10.9 installer onto a USB drive and I can tell from the installation logs that the installer seems to be getting onto the USB drive properly, but the Mini won't boot from it - it ignores the USB drive once selected, and just goes to the internal drive no matter what I do.

Any suggestions?

Am in the same position, How'd you get OSX Mavericks to download?

One question in response to your prob. did you make the suggested changes in the BIOS (Power up holding delete key, etc)? and are you using iBoot to boot the first time (before you put in installer I think)

I'm not sure if your mini is supporting Mavericks. Have you checked that?

Have you tried to download Mavericks from the MAS?
