On 10.9.1 my XFX Radeon 7970 worked wonderfully. Since upgrading to 10.9.2 performance has taken a bit hit in my benchmarks. For example, previous Luxmark score was 2069... and now it's only 1102. Cinebench OpenGL test is down too... from 89fps to only 67fps. Heaven benchmark was horrible too.... from a score of 606 down to 369. Visually OpenGL is suffering in Heaven benchmark, so I think these scores are accurate representations of a performance loss, and not mis-reported numbers.

Anyone else experiencing this?

You need to make sure that your integrated graphics is enabled on your motherboard, although you can still boot using the dedicated card. I have GraphicsEnabler=No, and IGPEnabler=Yes in my .plist. Using Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H.

Anyone else notice performance issues on 10.9.2 with 7970?

i have a sapphire r9 280x, i lost my dual-dvi output with update to 10.9.2

i have 2 x 27" Monitors connected to both mini DP Ports, i get full resolution (2560x1440) and luxmark are still high with 2300 points.

I am using clover bootloader and i had to enable ATIInject with AJI Framebuffer, noIPGU is enabled on my system.

10.9.2 requires GraphicsEnabler=Yes. I have dual 7970 and the onboard Intel 4600 enabled. If I plug the monitor into the 4600 port, it boots with the 4600 as primary. If I boot with the monitor connected to the 7970 port, it buts with the 7970 as primary. BIOS is set to initialize the IGP first.

I get a Luxmark score of 4752 with all 3 GPUs enabled.

I have a GTX 660 and have also noticed a reduction in performance when playing games and making videos.

I tried the graphicsenabler=yes and it just turned my video card off i think. i.e. i wasn't getting a picture

so i want to switch back to 10.9.1 we will see.

Hi!
I'm using Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H too. With first 7970_install in 10.9.2 my LuxMark score had - 800...)
Somewhere in forum i find that for 10.9.2+7970 need a MacPro 5.1 Unibeast setting with trick such as deleting of 2 kext from Libraries/Extansion (AppleTyblablabla....kext and AppleGraphicsPowerMeegament.kext) - it needs for nonECC memory using and for fullacceleration of 7970..

After that trick in 10.9.2 with 7970 Luxmark score jump to 2280 score.

But i have other issue - I can't boot to OSX without Unibeast USB... I just see a black screen with strips like - "boot: done - arbaernbaerta54ae6r98-g/a0rfa0r+a"
How could you boot without USB_stick on your Z77X-UD5H MB?!?!?
Thanx for your help!

Personally I can't get full acceleration with GE=yes on my 7970 under 10.9.2. My scores were all down around 1000.
(That was with IGFX on, set to primary and monitor plugged into the 7970).

Eventually I set it back to GE=No with my IGFX enabled and set to primary and although I still get the card listed as 7xxx under hardware, my benchmarks are back to normal and the whole machine boots fine.

Seems like there is no set way to get this working flawlessly for everyone.

(I'm using the Mac Pro 5.1 definition)

you have to use the efi partition install boot loader an anything else in there
i kept on mbp 3.1 because under 5.1 i get flickering screen during benchmark
also stuck with hard drive boot on 4k hard drive it worked flawlessly in a non 4k hdd
