I took the picture in the middle of deleting stuff. With all the kexts installed all it does is make the unknown cpu line go away, it still hangs at the smckeystore started or applekeystore started message.

By the way what is the point of the kexts in the folder? they are the same things you are installing via MultiBeast as far as I can tell

Did you figure out this problem? I am having the same issue.

You should install the kexts properly via kext wizard or kext utility and always repair permissions and reload cache after you're done.

FakeSMC emulates a fake Mac ID so DSMOS (Don't Steal Mac Os X) doesn't stop the booting process.

VoodoTSCSync makes sure that your CPU is recognized and running properly.

Yes, but they are the same kexts as you are installing with multi beast, so why? Looks like other people are having issues with bios settings too. Can you please post images of the bios settings so we can follow your guide please?

I have the exact same hardware, so I bit down hard and followed your guide and it worked perfectly.

Except for one thing....

USB 3.0 seems to be misbehaving. It appears to function fine, except my Lacie Porsche USB3 drives cannot copy to or be copied from, nor can I partition them without error. I tested them on my Macbook Pro and they function just fine (which I also upgraded to 10.9.2). My WD Passport drives work on the new system just fine using USB 3.0 so I was starting to think it was just the Lacies. But when I tested the Lacies in a USB2 port, they work good.

So for now my external Lacie drives simply will not work with USB 3.0 on my big machine, which seeing as how they are video editing drives renders them kind of useless.

Hello davevegas

First of all thanks a lot for your great post.

I have the same processor and motherboard. My installation was fine!
I followed your HowTo till the point 4. So all drivers from Multibeast + the kexts from your attached file. But unfortunately after reboot it gets stuck.

Will be great if you could let me know if you have same ideas about where my problem is.

Thanks in advance.

What do you mean, "why"? You need these kexts in order to get your hack working. MultiBeast doesn't always cover everything to get a proper hack working so you need to learn to install kexts on your own.

I attached my BIOS settings in this post for you to check out!

sleep works now?

Yes sleep works now, perfectly. Working Power Management too.

I had the exact same problem, I somehow solved it. Can you give me a screenshot of the exact "error" it gives you when you try to copy something onto the drive?

Looks like you forgot to install NullCPUPowermanagement.kext / FakeSMC.kext or you have force C/P states in your smbios.plist

Did you also check your BIOS settings with mine?

Hope this thread helps you guys.

Some excellent information in this thread, thankyou Dave.

After the 10.92 update, if anyone loses sound after sleep (like I did), then you can roll back the ALC892 kexts from Multibeast 5.5.5 , some have succesfully rolled back the ALC892 kexts from MB 6.01 (as mentioned in another thread) to get sound back after sleep.

Thanks for the help.

New stuff I did:
- updated by BIOS from 3009 to 4608
- fresh install instead of an upgrade but still didn't solve the USB3 problem
- purchased a new Seagate External Backup Plus to see if it responded better - same issues

Attached are screenshots of errors I get when attempting to write to the drive and partition.

Very interesting, thanks for the info! Mine work with 6.01

A note for people here experiencing the weird Chrome/Flash Audio distortions this thread is gold: http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/127141-temporary-solution-mavericks-audio-issues.html

The solution to your issue will be adding this to your "Kernel Flags":

-gux_defer_usb2 -gux_no_idle

Reboot and it should work.
