Hello everybody,

I have installed OS X 10.8.5 on my PC, and I don't know how to get TRIM working with my ADATA SP550 SSD. I tried the program TRIM Enabler, but it says the patch is active, but can't verify if TRIM is enabled, and it isn't, because it doesn't show up by System Information.

I also tried the TRIM patch for OSX 10.8.3+ via MultiBeast, but this also doesn't work. Does anyone know how to enable it? I am using a Dell Optiplex 380, which is not running in AHCI mode, because there isn't an option for it in the BIOS.

Thanks

Have you tried the method in the attached document? It involves using the Terminal to apply a binary patch to a system kext; if that makes you uncomfortable, there's a graphical tool that does the same thing. It's called Chameleon SSD Optimizer (no connection to Chameleon the hackintosh bootloader AFAIK).

How did you get OS X to install without AHCI anyway?

Hello,

I just installed via UniBeast, my SSD was recognized. When I use the command from the document, it gives me an error: -bash: syntax error near unexpected token `.{9}'

When I use the Chameleon SSD Optimizer, it keeps saying it needs to disable kext-signing, but I did that already.
