This might be a shot in the dark.

I just put together a new build.
GA Z77 Ud5h, with an i7 3770
It works fine with ML installed on a new 830 256gb.
But i was wondering, is possible to get my old harddrive with 10.6.8 running on this.

The old was a X58 ud 5, with an i7 930, running 10.6.8

Is there anyway my old harddrive could run on the new machine.

I dont want to meddle to much, since i could still use the old one for some tasks, but if i could have a dual boot with old and new system, that would be great....

Thanks

No, I don't think so. Snow Leopard is not compatible with Ivy Bridge processors. The latest CPU technology supported under Snow Leopard (10.6.8) is Sandy Bridge like the Core i7-2600.

Personally I am using a Z68 motherboard and a Sandy Bridge processor (Xeon E3-1230) and Snow Leopard / Lion / Mountain Lion all run fine.
