As no cards are 100% successful at the moment the definition of success by general consent seems to be, working with full desktop acceleration but with DVD Player & Geekbench Crash and OpenGL Games not working.
Edit 2011-04-19. Further developments now allow resolution of DVD Player, Geekbench and OpenGL Games issues please see notshy's guide linked below.

UPDATE - 2011-05-27
This continues to develop and although it does not work "out of the box" it is now much simpler to get these cards working. Please see notshy's guide linked below.

Here is the link to notshy's Guide (has been updated May 9th 2011)
Guide - New ATI Kexts from MBP 10.6.7 Update - 5XXX/6XXX

The idea behind this list is as a reference for cards which work and do not so I will try and update this list as often as possible going forward.
UPDATE - 2011-05-01 - eelhead is going to add the cards from this list to the Wiki

Below Successful I have added Unsuccessful as that can be equally useful.
Please copy and fill in the blank details section at the bottom of the list when reporting success or failure with a card.

Template updated to reflect latest developments, if anyone wants to update a previous submission please let me know its an update and the List Number when you submit, template now has sections to indicate use of notshy's guide or Andy's boot file and Framebuffer used.
UPDATE - 2011-05-01 I have also now added a notes section where you should write any steps or information necessary to make the card work - this will help when adding to Wiki.

Unsuccessful

Define ''successful"

My XFX 5770 'works' with the new drivers, with full desktop acceleration. However there is the expected crash with DVD Player, and full-screen OpenGL games.

For the purposes of this thread I think a reasonable definition of successful would be no crashes and working as designed. This is based on the purpose of the thread being to help make an informed decision on cards to use with these drivers.

In that case, I don't think any cards are actually working. :p

For me the new ATI drivers are NOT SAFE, however there are a fix in the way, I read something on insanelymac about it, it's chameleon related i think.

But myself, I don't recommend to go with these drivers for now until all the bugs be fixed, specially if you use your rig for work & production purposes like me.

Successful (But with the known Geekbench & DVD player issues)

Brand=GIGABYTE
Model=ATI HD5770 1Gb DDR5 - GV-R577UD-1GD (Batmobile)
Device ID=0x68b8
Multibeast=3.2 (error gathering memory info the sys profiler with 3.3/3.4 chameleon version)
MacOS=10.6.7 (rolled-back to 10.6.6 with clean install)

Just purchased an XFX 5870 yesterday. Currently have a GTX 275 in my system (non-SandyBridge). Would I just have to run Multibeast with the new ATI drivers, remove and replace GTX 275 with 5870, and reboot? Is there another step that I have to take?

Or should I just install with the method in the sticky? Will that still work in 10.6.7?

You need to install Chameleon ATI Experimental + GrapphicsEnabler=Yes from MB, reboot, if everything OK, run MB 3.4 abd choose the new drivers + GrapphicsEnabler=No, reboot. But you should do the second part after updating to 10.6.7

I think you can switch the cards first then do this process, put the ATI card and boot, if you can't, try to boot from iboot and do the steps there.

I think both MB 3.4 and the sticky are OK.

BUT be careful and backup your system first, there are some issues related to these new drivers.

You are right Burninator after reading these replies I opened DVD Player for the first time in 10 years of owning Macs and Hacks - and it crashed. (I use external BluRay for discs and only electronic files go to my TV screen from the Hac).
I am happy using the new drivers as they create no issue for me but the original idea was to post cards which worked without issue and as none do yet I think we need to wait until these issues are resolved before revisiting it. Grafixidea thanks for the update glad to hear its in the pipeline.
