Hi,

Just installed Catalina on my old hack with no problems (flashed to UEFI and followed the guide without anything else needed, only WiFi not working but I've not really tried to make it work).

I'm running 10.15.7 (19H15).

Today I have an update notification for a supplemental update:

macOS Catalina 10.15.7 Supplemental Update 10.15.7 –– Restart Required

macOS Catalina 10.15.7 supplemental update addresses an issue that may prevent the battery from charging in some 2016 and 2017 MacBook Pro models.

Some features may not be available in all regions or on all Apple devices. For detailed information about the security content of this update, please visit: https://support.apple.com/kb/HT201222

This doesn't look like I need it, but even so I can't install it. The system restarts, does a few strange things including the dreaded white screen and eventually reboots without installing this update.

Anyone else having this problem? Is there a way around it?

Or is there a way to 'ignore' this update? The notification will annoy the hell out of me very quickly.

Every time I try to update to Catalina update 10.15.7 it says I need to restart, so I restart then I go to update and I get the same message I need to restart, anyone any ideas thanks

Thanks I did search but didn't see that one.

Do you mean choose install from prebooter or install from catalina - data?

OK it chooses prebooter on the first reboot, then on the second one I chose install from catalina - data and it's now got a progress bar with a time remaining so it looks like it's updating.
