Hi All,

First, I apologize if I am not very well versed in this stuff, I have had a hackintosh in some form or another since 2008, but usually once I get it up and running I leave it be. That said, I have been out of commission with my mac install for like a year now, and am here asking for help to try and get up and running again.

I used this guide to build a new windows/osx dual booting system about 2 years ago or so. It was working well for a long time, and then my wife accidentally auto installed the 10.12.6 security update, and after that time, I was unable to get booted back into my system (either through my main clover bootloader, or a rescue USB). I posted in June of 2018 to try to get a fix, and was unable to figure it out (it was some kind of Aptiofix memory allocation issue, and despite extensive tinkering, trying all the different aptiofix drivers, I couldn't get it to work). At that time I was booting from a Gigabyte GTX 1050 video card and using an EVGA GeForce GT740 for extra monitors.

After my failed troubleshooting, for the last year I have only been able to use my windows install, which works fine. Well...I am finally ready to try and get this mac install working again. One thing I did, was remove the older GT740 card, and am now trying to boot from the internal intel graphics primarily, and wuse the GTX 1050 as a secondary card. It is working fine for the Windows install. With this new graphics configuration, I have been able to boot into my system again for the first time in a year using OsxAptioFix3Drv-64 on my USB rescue drive, but only using the -x flag. Once in, only the internal graphics monitor is recognized. I have installed the correct Nvidia web drivers for my 10.12.6 build, but that doesn't seem to help. When I try to boot from the clover install on the drive itself in verbose mode, it seems to not hang up anywhere, but it either finishes its boot stuff and then goes to black screens, or finishes and then restarts the computer.

Again, I am sure I am doing many things wrong here, and would so so very much appreciate someone helping me out with this.

Thanks.

Ben

If it helps...this is what I’m currently getting when I try to boot from my Sierra install in verbose. It’s currently going through this, then restarts:

Why don't you read what it says ?
The problem is an old Lilu.kext.
Boot with -liluoff and then update Lilu.kext along with any of its plugin kexts.

Thanks. I will try that. I actually never used lilu before today. I only installed it to use intelgraphicsfixup based on some threads I was trying to follow. The install pre 10.12.6 was working without it.

But I will try and reply back. As I said, I’m definitely not as savvy as those I’m asking help from so I appreciate it.

IntelGraphicsFixup.kext is deprecated - Now part of WhateverGreen.kext.
Thanks for that info. I now have the newest Lilu kext (1.3.5) and whatevergreen kext installed. I am still getting a restart at the end of the boot attempt with the same error showing up in verbose mode.

Thanks P1LGRIM for your advice. If you or anyone has any other ideas I would very much appreciate them. For what it's worth, prior to trying this Lilu route it seemed its was an Aptio memory allocation problem that broke with 10.12.6. I am now using Aptiomemoryfix-64 and it is no longer stalling at that point, but I still can't get it to boot.

Boot in verbose mode and post a picture of the screen when it stops.

Here is the verbose screen. I also posted a picture of the first thing that is popping up in verbose.

I’m not sure why it’s giving that Lilu backtrace error as in clover configurator it shows version 1.3.5.

Thanks again.

Either you have another copy elsewhere or the old one is cached.

Boot with -f UseKernelCache=No -liluoff nv_disable=1

Ok. I found the old version...it was in S/L/E where as the newer version was in clover Kexts. I replaced the old Lilu with the newest version and now got this panic. I also tried booting with the flags you posted and the verbose ended with the other screen I posted.
