I would like to build a computer that would be great for video editing. I was looking at the quadro video cards but i realized that they would not work for a hackintosh. Can anyone help me primarily with the graphics card but any other advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have mac os x lion 10.7.0 on my hp pavilion a1654n every thing works but the video won't play same with the audio because they are not supported by lion I have 1 free PCI Express x16 port and 2 free Pci ports.

I'm looking to build a hackintosh very soon, however I don't quite have the money for all the parts (the GTX 760)
Basically I would like to do some gaming on windows (i'll Dual boot) in the future, rather than have a console.
I have the money for;
Core i5 3570k
I just popped a EVGA GeForce GT 640 graphics card into my Gigabyte Z77-DS3H, and it goes white, goes to the apple, goes white again, and stays that way. I heard this card should be plug-and-play, are there settings I have to change before installing it to prepare for that install?
I already have a CustoMac Pro built, but I'm going to be upgrading in the next month or so. I'm gonna be building a CustoMac Socket, using some of the parts I have currently in my rig. But what I'm curious about is, is it worth it for me to upgrade to a high end graphics card...
My previous PC builds have been HTPCs, so specs weren't too important. This is my first attempt at a CustoMac/Hackintosh, which will be used primarily for video and 2D graphic work.
I have an old MacBook, which I had initially hoped to convert to a desktop - but after some research I found...
Please help where you can. :) Building my first CustoMacPro for video editing and 3D modeling/animation, FCP, Adobe PremPro, After Effects, and Autodesk produts- 3DsMax, Maya, etc for 3D. Is there any buying advice you can give on GPUs and RAM for non-gamers? Will run 2-3 monitors only.
I tried asking this in the main Buying Advice subforum, but was told I might have better luck trying here.
I'm looking to upgrade the GPU in my desktop that is currently running 10.6.7. (I initially went with the ill fated XFX 5770 that had loads of issues with 10.6.8.) Now, I would like to...
So I finally got everything up and running, and it ran like a dream. This is, however, until I went to airplay my desktop to my apple TV. This tool was the main reason why I built a hackintosh in the first place. First let me tell you the specs, and then I'll get to my question. They are as...
Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me whether or not, can a Final Cut Pro X fully use the potential of a high end graphics card?
I am planning to buy a 4.1 Mac Pro and put AMD 7970 (because of its OpenCL performance) in it, but I don't want to overspend $$$ if the processor...
I have a gigabyte z77n mobo with a Nvidia gtx 660 ti graphics card.
Im running on 10.8.4 with all updated cuda/nvidia support and on PJALMS Graphic DSDT...no other DSDT kexts enabled in Multibeast.
Everything works great except previewing video files which as a video editor, is an...

i tried everything but i can´t get my GTX 670 to work. :banghead:
I have 10.8.3. Everything else works fine.
Lots of sleepless night,i can´t understand this problem.
Have anyone a conclusion?
it would be great to hear from you.
EVGA GTX 780
I know that the 780 is brand new, so will there be any problem getting ML to work with it, or will I have to wait for the next batch of drivers?
Also I'm pretty sure the Mobo should work since most people say that any GIGABYTE board works. Just have...
I'm looking for a graphics card that is easily compatible with osx that has a Mini-display port. I have the 24 inch apple monitor that I would like to connect to my hackinstosh. The only other thing is that the graphics card has to be somewhere around 200-250 bucks. If none exist, could you give...
so periodically my hackintosh will freeze for no apparent reason forcing me to hold down the power button to reset it, this has only been happening since the 10.8.3 update. I also have an issue with embedded flash video playback. my version of flashplayer is up to date and hardware acceleration...
When I built my first hackintosh last summer, due to cost I held back on buying a dedicated graphics card, but now that the funds are available I am looking into buying a GTX 660.
I feel like the GTX 660 is the best way to go as it provides good performance while maintaining a reasonable...
