thanks for the info, pastrychef! sorry, i had a wrong assumption that 100-series is for Skylake, 200-series is for Kaby Lake. my bad.
i'm not sure if/how i can edit the poll... what i meant to say was:
non-Kaby Lake (non-200-series. Z87/Z97/Z170) mobo
Kaby Lake (200-series. Z270) mobo
are...
UPDATE: thanks to RehabMan. i assume the native NVRAM support is now available with AptioMemoryFix.efi on 100/200/300 series mobos.
original post:
are there known 200 series motherboards with native NVRAM support?
Blackmagic Disk Speed Test 3.1 can now measure above 2GB/s.
Samsung SSD 950 PRO 512GB M.2 NVMe
specs: 2,500MB/s Seq. Read, 1,500MB/s Seq. Write.

myth "100 series Skylake motherboards don't support native NVRAM" busted!
the native NVRAM works with the ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII HERO Z170 ATX "Skylake" motherboard.
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/MAXIMUS-VIII-HERO/
BIOS Version: 1902 x64
Build Date: 06/24/2016
i think the myth got...
wow! it's possible with "Carrier board". i recommend using benchmark apps other than Blackmagic which currently has a 2GB/s artificial limit.
"One x16 PCIe M.2 board with four SM951 AHCIs = 5900+ MB/s" : http://barefeats.com/hard210.html
AJA System Test Lite
AmorphousDiskMark
i recommend my AmorphousDiskMark for Mac (a copycat app of CrystalDiskMark for Windows).
no artificial 2,000 MB/s limit.
high performance storage (e.g. NVMe) requires more than just a single-thread (QD=1) sequential read/write to measure the highest potential.
thanks for the tips. yep, there are workarounds.
i'm just wondering if there is anyone out there who has a 100 series motherboard with the native NVRAM support.
does anybody know why 100 series motherboards don't support a native NVRAM? assuming "all" 100 series motherboards don't support a native NVRAM.
1. lack of support from UEFI on the motherboard?
2. lack of support from the Clover bootloader?
3. something else?
i'm not having any issues since i don't have any 100 series motherboard "yet". i'm looking for buying advice.
is anybody successfully using a native NVRAM (meaning no EmuVariableUEFI-64.efi/RC-scripts) on a 100 series motherboard? if so, which motherboard is it?
