Thank you very much! I didn't really find anything called "BBS boot order" in the UEFI/BIOS, but I did find some drive icons that seemed to be listed in a certain order. I tried dragging them around and found that I could change the order of them that way. This helped! Now the machine...
Thanks for the guide. I have Mojave running fine on a Hackintosh. Until now, Mojave has been the only OS on the machine. I want to add Windows 10 on a separate drive. I have followed your guide. The last step in your Win10 instructions - disabling CSM - is where I first run into trouble: CSM...
What are you trying to do?
No need to download any file to remove extra boot options. Tony just linked to another thread where the process to do that is described.
From Sapphire's homepage describing the Nitro+ Radeon RX Vega 56:
This is hardware missing on the Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX Vega 56, so there is no doubt that the way the fans are controlled is different on the Nitro+ Vegas, which makes cnrd's statement, about fans not being controlled by...
Hmm - we put a Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX Vega 56 in my son's Hackintosh. True, we haven't had problems with the fans being too loud - but we have experienced what we thought was overheating of the GPU. I thought we could get that sorted by following Jaymonkey's guide (first post in this thread)...
Thanks Gigamaxx, I will be looking into it next time I have a long enough block of time to do this kind of stuff. I hadn't seen pastrychef's build-post, but I've read pretty much every post in the thread started by jaymonkey (and had linked to it in my post).
Right now the machine runs without...
Last time I wrote, we had not yet stressed the system with heavy-duty graphic duties, and had not encountered any problems with noisy fans - in fact this card seemed less noisy than my son's previous graphics card, a Gigabyte Geforce GTX 660. However, I told my son to be on the look-out for...
One more (related?) thing that puzzles me is this: Earlier, when I was booting up from the UniBeast-created Mojave install Flashdrive, it said Clover v.4674, but now when I boot from the SSD it says Clover v.4769. Well, at least it's newer, but I am surprised that the two are not the same...
Clover shows four drives with the following texts:
"Boot Firevault Prebooter from Preboot" (icon shows APFS)
"Boot MacOS Install Prebooter from Preboot" (icon shows APFS)
"Boot MacOS from SSD_1" (icon shows APFS)
"Boot Recovery from Recovery" (icon shows Recovery)
And here's a screen photo...
Thank you Vulgo.
I was about to start installing Mojave on an SSD. The SSD had been erased and reformatted in Disk Utility on a different machine, so it was supposedly empty (and in one partition). This was was the only internal hard drive connected. I was starting up from a Flashdrive made...
After checking in BIOS three (Edit: it was four, or three extra) instead of one UEFI option remain. I go through the same procedure of removing the extra options, but everytime the persistent boot options reappear in the bios. Any suggestions on what to do about that?
Without resetting my Gigabyte Motherboard to Factory Defaults, is there any way I can remove disks (many of which are outdated by now) from the list of boot devices that appear when pressing the F12-key on the keyboard after turning on the computer?
Thanks Gigamaxx, I found the minuscule switch:
Do you know which way is what bios? In the photo the switch is set to the right (away from the back of the computer) - is that the higher power and performance setting?
At the risk of sounding like the noob I really am:
The Nitro+ VEGA cards have dual bios - one for quiet and one for power operation. Could the varying fan speed experiences of different people, to some extent, be explained by this? How do you know which bios your VEGA card is currently using...
Got the graphics card today. Made a clean install of Mojave 10.14.2 on an empty hard disk, first running on internal graphics, then switching over to the VEGA in BIOS and it just worked! (Internal graphics is still on, but graphics card set up as "first" at startup). Nothing additional graphics...
Thanks P1LGRIM. Don't ask me what went wrong (because I don't understand it myself) - but I had to start all over again, erasing the hard drive and installing Mojave once more.
Now I've got Mojave running, ethernet working, new graphics card (Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX Vega 56) recognized by the...
In preparation for a new graphics card arriving today, I’ve clean installed Mojave 10.14.2 and had it up and running with screen connected to internal graphics (motherboard). I ran MultiBeast to get ethernet working. I made minimal changes in MultiBeast:
Drivers > Network > Intel >...
Here's a little update. After some more research, we were looking at the following graphics cards:
.............................................Relative Score....Relative Price
Sapphire Nitro+ RX Vega 56 8GB....................130%..............144%
Sapphire Nitro+ RX590 Special Edition...
