I do have 8 sata ports but when i attach a drive to one of the two yellow ones it is nowhere recognized. Switching sata ports does not seem to help either. I can't figure out what the difference ist between the two colours since there is no manual for my board. Old company dies=no support kinda...

To see if it is a motherboard issue boot into mac and verifiy that the temperature is displayed at 127°C and then reboot into bios. Not exactly where or even wether or not there is a cpu temperature display in bios but it would be nice to know if the board reads it wrong or if there is a problem...

For choosing a boot drive a install of chimera would be sufficient. It doesn't solve your bios problem but hey, one thing done.

I had the exactly same problem. I fixed it by reinstalling and then doing everything step by step. After fresh install i updated mac regularly. reboot. Installed chimera. reboot. installed audio drivers(with DSDT), boot flags, easybeast. reboot. Done. I hope it helps :)

What do you mean it goes past this? After listing all verbose output it changes to the boot screen and keeps on loading? I am definetly no expert but it seems like a corrupted drive. If you have your install stick/disk handy just go ahead and repair your boot drive. Can't make it worse :thumbup:

Easiest Method would be to use the usb stick to boot into mac os x and then download chimera from >>here<<. Then just follow the instructions and your drive should be bootable. cheers
