I had High Sierra running on my i5 Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro for about 6 months, but I felt like it was too much of a compromise. No Bluetooth, no Nvidia Graphics, bad power management and the trackpad experience wasn't great either. In the end I got fed up, mainly with the rubbish battery life and...
Yes, sorry I didn't mention, Bluetooth won't work, unless you are prepared to try soldering onto the logic board. I wouldn't recommend it. So only WiFi will work.
If you want to try soldering to get USB connection for Bluetooth, there is a separate discussion on that in this thread.
@Greenns this one might work, but I can't guarantee it. It's hard to be 100% sure. But the description sounds ok, like it should work:

Hi @alexmenn glad you solved your issue. You mentioned that you were using "other antennas directly to broadcom card". I am just curious to know how good is your signal strength from those other antennas? Where did you place them inside the laptop? Most of the enclosure is metalic, so will...
Hi @Neolo777 I have studied the circuit board and I don't think it will be as simple as fitting just a socket. There are other components missing from the board, like resistors and capacitors. It is impossible to guess what values are required. You would need access to the schematic design.
Hi @fladnaG86 , the adapter you linked in your post is not going to work. It doesn't look like it has the correct socket type. I can't find the correct type for you in Italy at the moment. If I find something I will let you know.
Yes, if you use the Broadcom module, following my guide, you can get internal WiFi working and you should be able to use an external USB Bluetooth module. You said that sometimes your internal Bluetooth works, I am guessing that is because you are dual booting with windows or Linux. If you boot...
Hi @fameart it sounds like you are planning to install the Broadcom module internally. I thought I should remind you, this will only give you internal WiFi. You won't get internal Bluetooth working. It is not possible because Bluetooth doesn't work through PCIe.
Hi @fladnaG86, I am not saying that you must use that version of BIOS. I am just saying that I have only tested the solution with BIOS version 0502. Because I haven't tested other versions I can't guarantee they will work. Most likely your BIOS version will work, but I can't give you a...
Hi @fladnaG86, you can get internal WiFi working with these parts if you follow my guide. You need some antenna extension cables also. Check my guide for the details. Bluetooth does not work because this requires a USB interface, which is not available on m.2 M key slot. If you look back through...
This is what I thought, although I was never completely sure. There seems to be conflicting information online. Some people say 2x and some say 4x. I played it safe and kept my SSD in slot 1. I think I saw one YouTube video where they suggested that slot 2 was being slowed down by a bug in the...
@kingfoot you could try this one:

I think this should work. The Broadcom WiFi module has both A and E keys, so it will fit and should work...
Hi @kingfoot, keep in mind that 5mm is the height of the adapter by itself (the red adapter you are looking at). Once you fit the Broadcom WiFi module on top of that it will end up more than 5mm high. I am guessing the total height will be more like 8mm.
If you look at the pictures of that red...
Hi @alexmenn I think the A to M key should work. The Broadcom WiFi module has both A and E keys on it, so it will physically fit, and i think the connections through the A key should be compatible.
@kingfoot That adapter you found on Amazon won't work, that is a mini PCIe to m.2 adapter.
The WiFi module looks like the correct one, should work.
You could try this adapter:

In theory it should work. The only issue might be the height of those...
Hi Everyone, just a quick update on the Broadcom Internal WiFi Solution.
I tested out Daliansky's latest Clover updates (13th April), and found that it disabled the Broadcom Internal WiFi.
There is a fairly easy fix for this, which requires a couple of Kexts to be installed after you complete...
